Allison and Dustin came to ESP in 2010. The family’s three year old twin children had been accepted into the Head Start Program at Beallwood.
Upon entry in the program, the parents of four children, ages 3 – 6 years old, did not have medical insurance for their family. In addition, Allison and Dustin, who were not married at the time, were both working part-time jobs and only had one vehicle.
Enrichment Services Program helped the family to find their road to self-sufficiency. ESP immediately helped the family secure medical insurance. A Family Service Worker assisted Allison and Dustin to apply for Medicaid services. Within weeks of applying, the family’s Medicaid application was approved. All of the children were able to get their annual well child check-up, as well as, receive dental services.
Because their twins were enrolled in the Head Start Program, Allison and Dustin were able to secure full-time employment. They went from having one vehicle to owning two vehicles. The parents married shortly after enrolling in the program. Allison and Dustin are currently exploring options of buying a new home.
