I heard about ESP from a friend who said she had a son at Head Start. I was referred to Rosemont and then transferred over to CDC because my daughter, Illysa, was having speech problems. I wanted her to get a “Head Start” on her education. She has gotten a lot from the program. Before coming to ESP, she did not know her shapes or colors, and, could not memorize simple songs. Now, she is able to sing and identify those items. She is speaking clearly and does not babble anymore.
I was able to enroll in a GED program and attend classes while my daughter was in school. When it was time for me to take the GED test, I could not pay the testing fee, but Enrichment Services Program paid for me to take the test. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I took the test and passed the first time!
I would not have been able to afford to get the quality early childhood education services that my daughter has received at ESP. After coming to ESP and meeting the staff and other parents, I have learned a lot. I got married and will soon be enrolling at Columbus Technical College to pursue a degree in Child Development. I now have
something that I didn’t have before coming to ESP…my GED! I feel much more confident in helping my kids with their homework. I can’t wait to one day come back and work for Enrichment Services Program!
